The best Business Class lounges in the world: enhance your journey with exclusive facilities

They are places of tranquillity and offer all the comforts amidst the hustle and bustle of large, busy airports around the world: airport lounges. Their doors open with business or first class tickets, some credit cards, memberships or for frequent flyers and then keep all the hustle and bustle and noise of an airport behind their guests. The lounges offer travel comfort at its best. Read here what you can expect in the best Business Class lounges in the world and how you can enjoy them.

Comfortable time out before taking off into the world

Lounges with plenty of comfort, service and a sweeping view of the aircraft on the airfield await you at all major airports in Germany. Most of them belong to Lufthansa - a good dozen at Frankfurt Airport alone. You will find particularly luxurious facilities in the First Class lounges there or in Munich, for example. Enjoy first-class cuisine from top chefs and a selection of drinks like in the best clubs in the world or retreat to a private relaxation or wellness suite with shower. If you like, treat yourself to a few puffs in the cigar lounge, and if you absolutely have to work, take a seat in a business unit. First class passengers of Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines and Swiss Air or HON Circle members have access on the day of departure.

There are also a number of Lufthansa Business and Senator airport lounges at German airports. Their free gastronomic offer is just as first-class and there are also opportunities to retreat or refresh yourself with a shower. A Business Class ticket for Lufthansa and Star Alliance flights or, for example, frequent traveler status with Miles and More is sufficient as an entry ticket. In Frankfurt in particular, however, the lounge selection does not end there.

The LuxxLounge, for example, is open to everyone for a small entrance fee - including drinks and snacks. It also offers comfortable resting facilities and showers. Deutsche Bahn customers can also enjoy a spacious DB Lounge at Frankfurt Airport. For early morning departures, the Air France Lounge is the first choice, as it opens before six o'clock and therefore before most others. This airport lounge is part of the Priority Pass network with over 1600 lounges worldwide for relaxing at the airport. Membership is free with any American Express Platinum or Centurion Card. These cards also have their own American Express lounges in London and Los Angeles, for example. By the way: anyone who still has a Diners Club credit card has a ticket for over 1000 airport lounges that is almost as extensive.

Experience travel comfort at the highest level - not only in the world's most exclusive lounges, but also with the perfect bag at your side. In the Oberwerth Shop you will find handmade bags that are ideal for frequent flyers and business travelers. Whether it's an elegant laptop bag, a practical weekender or a stylish business backpack - all our products are made from high-quality leather and offer long-lasting comfort. With the lifetime guarantee, you are well equipped for all your travels. Take a look at our store and find the perfect bag for your next flight!

A quick look at the best First and Business Class lounges around the globe

What are the best business lounges in the world? Qatar Airways is an absolute highlight in terms of size and luxury.

#1 Doha - a lounge between 1001 nights and modernity

The Qatar Airways Lounge impresses with its size alone. Its 10,000 square meters could easily accommodate several other lounges. The facilities, furnishings and comfort are on a par with the finest hotels in the world. Culinary delights are served here at a large buffet or à la carte with Arabic and international cuisine under high ceilings between marble, bronze and designer furniture. There are also relaxation, work and luxurious wellness rooms, as well as entertainment such as a Formula 1 simulator and a play area for the little ones - an extra that not all lounges have to offer. The lounge is open to all Business and First Class guests of Qatar Airways or the oneworld Alliance.

#2 Istanbul - Turkish Airways

This lounge also offers plenty of entertainment: Go to a movie theater in between or race around a Carrera racetrack on mini speedsters, just like you did as a child. Similar to Doha, the ambience combines the Orient with the West in spacious, high-ceilinged rooms. Chefs at live cooking stations prepare international and Turkish specialties. The catering comes from Austria and so you can also find apple strudel or Sacher torte here - probably unique in Istanbul. Relaxation at the airport can be celebrated here in a Japanese or Turkish tea garden or you can retreat to one of the private relaxation rooms.

#3 Frankfurt - Lufthansa Panorama Lounge

Small but nice: after the huge lounges in Doha or Istanbul, this Lufthansa lounge in Frankfurt impresses with its almost intimate atmosphere of a dignified living room or club room. The name says it all. All rooms in the lounge overlook the apron of the airport. In terms of catering and other services, the Business Lounge also meets first-class expectations, earning it one of the top spots among these luxurious facilities.

#4 Hong Kong - Cathay Pacific

Cathay Pacific has five lounges open at its home airport of Hong Kong - one of which is for arrivals only. However, "The Pier" offers the most travel comfort on over 3000 square meters. Asian and international specialties are all prepared to order here. A traditional noodle bar and a tea house bring the flair and delights of Asia to Hong Kong Airport. The "Pier" is available as a Business and First Class version with all the comforts of travel. In addition, "The Cabin" lounge focuses on health and wellness, while "The Bridge" sets a further accent with many barista coffees and a large selection of pastries. In addition to Cathay passengers, you will also always find a seat in the airline's lounges with oneworld Alliance Sapphire status.

#5 London Heathrow - Virgin Atlantic

The Virgin Atlantic Lounge always deserves a visit before the flight from the island across the Atlantic. It has a modern British club ambience, serves deli and tapas as well as a select variety of cocktails and spirits. There is also an entire spa area with short treatments that you can use after a drink or snack if you are traveling with Delta or Virgin Atlantic.

Other top-class airport lounges can also be found, for example, at Singapore Airlines at your home airport, in Sydney with Qantas Airways or in Dubai, where Emirates offers champagne and a quarter of an hour's spa treatment with every visit to the Moët & Chandon Lounge. It is therefore worth taking a look at the airline lounges on offer in addition to the comfort on board every time you book Business Class or higher. With some credit cards or membership programs, you can also enjoy further luxurious facilities in over 100 countries to relax in at the airport before boarding your flight with your luggage in no less exclusive check-ins.
