About Oberwerth
Our history
Oberwerth was founded in 2013 by Regina Immes - out of a conviction that still underpins the brand today. As a passionate photographer, she asked herself a simple but crucial question: Why are there only industrially manufactured bags for cameras of the highest craftsmanship? The answer was the beginning of something lasting. In close collaboration with German master craftsmen, the first prototypes of the Freiburg camera bag were created - the founding product of a brand that combines style, function and materiality without compromise. This first product immediately won the prestigious Red Dot Design Award.
Today, Florian Immes, son of the founder, is the second generation to run Oberwerth. Oberwerth is a long-standing partner of the Leica Society International, Leica Camera and FUJIFILM, a member of the Koblenz Chamber of Crafts and a retailer on five continents. What began as a photographer's personal question is now an internationally recognized brand - always on the move, always evolving - the philosophy preserved.
